trivago_clicks — Trivago accommodation click-outs (2018)
- Description
A bipartite network of browsing sessions on the hotel metasearch website trivago and the accommodations (mostly hotels) that were clicked out to in each session, i.e. for which the user was forwarded to a booking site. The data were derived by Chodrow, Veldt and Benson from the training data of the ACM RecSys Challenge 2019, which consists of logs of user sessions on trivago from November 2018 (about 910 thousand sessions), each a sequence of actions such as viewing information, images or deals of an accommodation, sorting and filtering search results, and clicking out to a booking site. Accommodations without metadata were removed, an accommodation clicked out to more than once in a session is connected to it only once, only the largest connected component was kept, and sessions with click-outs to a single accommodation were then removed.
The network has the following properties:
is_session: whether the node is a browsing session (otherwise it is an accommodation).- Accommodation nodes:
country, the country where the accommodation is located (160 countries).
