whats_cooking — What's Cooking recipes and ingredients (2015)
- Description
A bipartite network of recipes and their ingredients, labelled by cuisine. The recipes are the training set of the 2015 Kaggle competition "What's Cooking?", provided by the recipe website Yummly, in which the cuisine of a recipe was to be predicted from its list of ingredients. Each recipe is connected to the ingredients in its list (an ingredient listed more than once in a recipe is connected to it only once). Ingredients are named as written in the recipes, so the same ingredient can appear under different names (e.g. "salt" and "sea salt"). The data are the version distributed by Amburg, Veldt and Benson.
The network has the following properties:
is_recipe: whether the node is a recipe (otherwise it is an ingredient).- Ingredient nodes:
name, the name of the ingredient. - Recipe nodes:
cuisine, the cuisine of the recipe, one of 20: brazilian, british, cajun_creole, chinese, filipino, french, greek, indian, irish, italian, jamaican, japanese, korean, mexican, moroccan, russian, southern_us, spanish, thai, vietnamese.
