douban — Douban friendship network (2010)
- Description
A friendship network among users of Douban.com, a Chinese website (launched in 2005) for reviews and recommendations of movies, books and music, crawled in December 2010 by Long Qiu at Arizona State University and distributed by the Social Computing Data Repository (originally at Arizona State University, now at Syracuse University). Nodes are users (anonymized), and an undirected edge connects two users who are friends.
The source data list the friendships as lines stating that "user $i$ is friend with user $j$", almost all of them in both directions: of the 654,188 lines, 654,052 are mirrored by the line of the opposite direction (327,026 pairs), and 136 are not. Each pair of users listed in either direction is one edge (327,162 edges in all); the direction of the 136 unmirrored lines is not kept. The node list of the source data contains 154,907 users; one more user (with identifier 154908) occurs only in the edges.
The network has the following properties:
- (Node)
user_id: the identifier of the user in the source data. - (Node)
in_node_list: whether the user is listed in the node list of the source data.
