human_interactome_2014 — Human interactome HI-II-14 and Lit-BM-13 (2014)

Description

Networks of interactions between human proteins from the proteome-scale map of the human binary interactome of Rolland et al. (2014), from the Center for Cancer Systems Biology (CCSB) at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. In both networks, nodes are proteins (identified by the genes that encode them), and an undirected edge represents a binary (direct) protein-protein interaction. Self-loops are proteins that interact with themselves.

  • HI-II-14: the binary interactions detected by a systematic high-throughput yeast two-hybrid (Y2H) screen of the pairwise combinations of the products of about 13,000 protein-coding genes ("Space II" of the human ORFeome), each screened twice and verified by pairwise retesting (13,944 interactions among 4,303 proteins).
  • Lit-BM-13: binary interactions curated from the literature, supported by at least two pieces of evidence (multiple publications or methods), assembled by the authors for comparison with the systematic map (11,045 interactions among 5,545 proteins).

The networks have the following properties:

  • entrez_id: the Entrez Gene ID.
  • name: the HGNC gene symbol.

Other data sets of the CCSB Interactome Database are in the entries interactome_vidal (the earlier human binary map CCSB-HI1/HI-I-05), yeast_interactome_ccsb (the yeast binary Y2H maps CCSB-YI1, Ito core and Uetz screen, and literature-curated and gold-standard reference sets), collins_yeast (the yeast co-complex associations of Collins et al.) and celegans_interactomes (the C. elegans interactome networks).
