islamic_state_bbc — Islamic State members (2014)

Description

Networks of relationships among 56 members of the Islamic State, reconstructed at the University of Manchester from the information published by the BBC in 2014 about the investigation of the group by a team of experts ("UK paying experts to build Islamic State war crimes case"). Nodes are individuals (vertex property name), and there are three types of relationship:

  • links: links between members (relationship type not specified).
  • companions: companions and friends (former companion, close friends, close coordination, most important companion, close relationship).
  • kinship: kin (brothers, brothers working together, married to sister, son).

Data distributed by the UCINET datasets collection (University of Manchester).1
