network_scientists — Co-authorships among network scientists (1998-2019)
- Description
The co-authorship network of network scientists, from Molontay and Nagy. Network science papers are defined as those that cite at least one of three seminal papers of the field (Watts and Strogatz, 1998; Barabási and Albert, 1999; Girvan and Newman, 2002). Their records were retrieved from the Web of Science core collection on 16 May 2019, and after the removal of duplicates comprise 29,528 papers. Each node is an author of at least one such paper, and an undirected edge connects two authors who co-authored at least one network science paper. The network is a one-mode projection of the bipartite network of authors and papers, and is anonymized. 851 nodes are isolated, corresponding to authors of single-authored papers without network science co-authors.
