slashdot_zoo_snap — Slashdot Zoo social network (2008-2009)
- Description
Two snapshots of the "Slashdot Zoo" of the technology news website Slashdot.org, a feature introduced in 2002 that allows users to tag each other as friends or foes, as distributed by SNAP and used by Leskovec, Lang, Dasgupta and Mahoney in their study of community structure in large networks. Nodes are users, and a directed edge from one user to another denotes a friend or foe tag (the type of tag is not included; see the
signed_social_mediaentry for signed versions of the same network). The snapshots were obtained on November 6 2008 (0811) and in February 2009 (0902). As distributed, almost every node has a self-loop, and the node numbers are not consistent with those of the signed versions. Although0811and the signed networkslashdot081106ofsigned_social_mediaare from the same date and have nearly the same number of nodes (77,360 and 77,357), their edge sets differ (about 905,000 and 517,000 edges), reflecting different processing.
