mosquito_ppi — Mosquito predicted protein interactions (2010)
- Description
A network of predicted protein-protein interactions of the yellow fever mosquito Aedes aegypti, the main vector of dengue virus, from Guo et al. The interactions were predicted with the interolog method: experimentally determined interactions in three model organisms, the yeast S. cerevisiae (47,783 interactions from co-immunoprecipitation and yeast two-hybrid screens), the fruit fly D. melanogaster (20,405 two-hybrid interactions) and the nematode C. elegans (4,736 literature-mined and two-hybrid interactions), were transferred to the mosquito proteins orthologous to the interacting proteins. Nodes are mosquito proteins (genes), and an undirected edge connects two proteins predicted to interact, weighted by the confidence of the prediction. The confidence scores combine the confidence of the original interaction in the model organism (estimated from statistical and topological predictors) with the InParanoid orthology score. The network has 64,449 predicted interactions among 6,263 proteins; 316 of the edges are self-loops (proteins predicted to interact with themselves).
The network has the following properties:
name: the VectorBase gene identifier of the protein (e.g. "AAEL010168").confidence: the confidence score of the predicted interaction, between 0 and 1 (average 0.32).origin: the model organism(s) from which the interaction was transferred ("yeast", "fly", "worm", or combinations such as "yeast/fly").
