strayer_preschool — Strayer preschool dominance (1976)

Description

Agonistic interactions among preschool children in two groups in Waterloo (Ontario, Canada), from the ethological study of social agonism and dominance relations of F. F. Strayer and J. Strayer (1976). The data were distributed by L. C. Freeman on his network data page at the University of California, Irvine (no longer online), from which this version was obtained via the Internet Archive.

  • group1: 17 children.
  • group2: 19 children.

A directed edge (i, j) indicates agonistic interactions between children i and j that resulted in the submission of one of them. The direction of the edges is not documented (in such data, the row child is usually the winner of the encounter).

The networks have the following properties:

  • Edges: weight, the number of interactions.
