uci_forum — UC Irvine online forum activity (2004)
- Description
The activity of users in the forum of an online community for students at the University of California, Irvine (a Facebook-like social network site), from May to October 2004, collected by T. Opsahl and P. Panzarasa. The forum is organized in topics, and the network records the messages that 899 users posted to 522 topics. Users who only exchanged private messages are not included, and the user numbers do not correspond to those of the private message network of the same community.
Each message is a bipartite edge connecting the user who posted it to the topic, so that users and topics can be connected by multiple edges.
The network has the following properties:
- Nodes:
is_user, whether the node is a user (otherwise it is a topic);id, the number of the user or topic in the source data. - Edges:
time, the time when the message was posted, as Unix time (the source data give the date and time without a time zone, which were interpreted as UTC);chars, the number of characters in the message.
